Medomsley Village
Village Life
On the immediate doorstep behind us is the small village of Medomsley
with numerous country pathways and rights of way leading off from the
village where you could lose yourself for the day in the fields
during a brisk walk. The renowned Derwent Walk country path is at the
bottom of the bank, accessible from a range of the pathways. The
village is surrounded by numerous attractive and secluded country
walks, some leading down to the renowned 'Derwent Walk' country path
and cycle way. Attractive country pubs and restaurants are located
nearby. Shopping is a dream at the Metro Centre, only 10 minutes drive
away.
Shopping & Food
Medomsley and the nearby Roman village of Ebchester boast two quality
village pubs each serving excellent restaurant food, a post office,
surgery, Church of England infant/junior school, newsagent and village
store. Supermarkets and restaurants are nearby, and of course the Metro
Centre, being Europe's largest retail complex, can provide almost all
shopping needs - being just 15 mins away where superstores such as
Marks & Spencer, House of Frazer, Ikea, Asda and speciality
shops cinemas, bowling alleys, fun fairs and cafes can be found. The
historic city of Durham with its medieval university, cathedral and
museum is in easy reach. |
